  PRESENTATION:  This 2-hour workshop will provide an overview of the Alc 300 rules adopted by the NH Board of Licensing for Alcohol & Other Drug Use Professionals in October 2016 as well as the Alc 400 rules adopted July 2018.  The 300 rules describe the requirements for initial certification as a certified recovery support worker and the 400 rules describe the recertification and supervision requirements.  We will examine the certification requirements for the CRSW credential as well as the scope of service and requirements described in State statute (RSA 330:C). 

  Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Access the administrative rules online and reference the sections pertaining to CRSW certification.

  2. Describe the role of the International Credentialing & Reciprocity Consortium for New Hampshire substance use credentialing.

  3. Participants will also have an increased confidence in being able to answer questions about credentialing for both the people they supervise toward the credential or in their own pursuit of the credentials.

  PRESENTERS:   

  Emily Sorey-Backus, MPH is the Training Director at the New Hampshire Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association. In her role at NHADACA, she is involved in planning training events to cater to Substance Use professionals. She works to ensure that NHADACA is providing necessary, accurate, and evidence-based information as to build a strong, effective, and well-informed workforce. Previously, Emily worked as an Employment Counselor for those affected by the Opioid Crisis in New Hampshire. She also has experience working in Community Mental Health. Emily holds Master of Public Health, Bachelor’s in Communication, and Bachelor’s in Women’s Studies degrees from the University of New Hampshire. Emily is passionate about helping to build a robust Substance Use Treatment workforce in New Hampshire so that individuals in our state can obtain the care and support they need. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, travelling, crafting, and cooking.

  Corissa Webb is the Training Assistant at the New Hampshire Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association (NHADACA). In her role at NHADACA she assists in the implementation of the various training events and creates webinars and surveys. In Corissa’s previous jobs she has mentored and trained new employees and grew a fondness for teaching and curriculum design, her curiosity and desire to develop creative learning solutions that can be applied in diverse settings is why she is currently working towards her Bachelors of Arts in Instructional Design from the University of Arizona. Growing up in New Hampshire, Corissa has seen first-hand the effects of the opioid epidemic and is passionate about creating effective lessons for substance use professionals so they can provide the care that the citizens of New Hampshire deserve.
