  • Share Resources in staff meetings. Use non-stigmatizing and supportive language.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT . . .

Connect employees with us to improve community connections.

  • EAP program - make employees aware of how and where to ask for help

  • Distribute resources in staff emails, paychecks, at staff meetings, on company intranet.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES . . .

Allow employees to meet recovery goals or treatment requirements while still being productive onsite.

  • Allow time to meet with a coach, attend a group, or talk to a counselor via zoom while at work.

  • Employees caring for family members with addiction may need extra support ~ offer them resources too!

  • Make remote working options available!

POLICIES & PROCEDURES . . .

  • Make policies and procedures more supportive and less punitive.

  • Inclusive and supportive polices are a great way to support employees with substance use issues.

  • Be sure supervisors and managers know about policies and resources and where to refer people.

ON-SITE SUPPORT GROUPS . . .

  • Offer space for employees to attend in-person or zoom support groups during work hours or over the weekend.

  • Meet with a Coach in-person or on zoom during work! This keeps recovery strong in challenging moments.

WORK / LIFE BALANCE . . .

  • Encourage employees to make choices to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

  • Encourage breaks and discourage working overtime.

  • Offer healthy recipes in newsletters, or places to improve physical fitness using insurance benefits.

RESOURCES . . .

  • Provide information and education in text, videos, or pictures to increase employee engagement.
