Make policies and procedures more supportive and less punitive.
Inclusive and supportive polices are a great way to support employees with substance use issues.
Be sure supervisors and managers know about policies and resources and where to refer people.
ON-SITE SUPPORT GROUPS . . .
Offer space for employees to attend in-person or zoom support groups during work hours or over the weekend.
Meet with a Coach in-person or on zoom during work! This keeps recovery strong in challenging moments.
WORK / LIFE BALANCE . . .
Encourage employees to make choices to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Encourage breaks and discourage working overtime.
Offer healthy recipes in newsletters, or places to improve physical fitness using insurance benefits.
