Make policies & procedures to be more supportive and less punitive.
Inclusive and supportive polices are important tools for supporting folks with substance use issues. Keep staff involved who represents current needs.
Be sure supervisors and managers know about policies and resources and where to refer people.
ON-SITE SUPPORT GROUPS . . .
Offer space for employees to attend an in-person or virtual support group during work hours, after a shift, or over the weekends.
Meet with a Coach in-person or on zoom during work! This keeps recovery strong in challenging moments.
WORK / LIFE BALANCE . . .
Recovery means improving health and making choices to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Encourage breaks and discourage working overtime.
Offer healthy recipes in newsletters, or places to
improve physical fitness using insurance benefits.
